Junk Journal January 2026

The first challenge I actually completed!

For the first time ever, I tool part in Junk Journal January - and I actually completed it! I won't lie; it was not an easy task for me. Filming most of the days made it even more challenging. Maybe I won't film so much

next time...

My Junk Journal January Experience

But I digress, I set myself the task of interpreting the prompts using quotes inspired by them. Most of my quotes ended up being by Angela Weiland Crosby, who has inspired more than one of my pieces - including an entire book dedicated to her quotes!

The overarching theme was Winter, and we were given a lovely digital kit by Sandra Murrell (Bee Happy Stationery) to base our journal on. I felt the need for texture, layers, and cosiness in the journal. While I managed to achieve that, I am not equally pleased with all of my pages.

But I am proud of myself though as I usually get side tracked before completing a project fully, or it takes me years, never have I done it in a month.

Take on the challenge!

Taking on a challenge like this helps you:

  • Step out of your comfort zone;

  • Try new things;

  • Improve as an artist, finding new mediums or means of expression.

There are a number of challenges like this throughout the year, and I might join in once again, so keep those eyes peeled!

In the meantime, if you would like to see what I created and maybe give it a go for yourself, you can watch my playlist on my channel, or you can just watch the final flip through video here below:
